Cross Categorical II (3rd to 5th grades) Newletter

The cross categorical classroom is a conglomeration of many different disabilities, including, but not limited to:

Learning Disabled
Behaviorally/Emotionally Disabled
Autistic
Educable Mentally Disabled
Other Health Impaired (including ADD/ADHD)

As a multifaceted classroom, the cross categorical level II classroom relies on different components from the varying Supportive Learning Environment Practices of each disability that it serves.  For information on the Supportive Learning Practices, click the attached website address: http://www2.wcpss.net/departments/speced/supportive_learning/index.htm

The cross categorical level II classroom serves students that have an IEP and need instruction in a separate setting for 61% or more of the school day.  This includes, but is not limited to, modified instruction in all academic subjects, as well as meeting special needs in behavior management and social skills.
