Morning Carpool
Safety
Procedures
·
Students are not allowed in the building until the 8:45 bell. Please do not leave students standing in
front of the building before this time.
They should remain in the car with adult supervision.
·
Enter the carpool lane from the right
off Ortega Road – no left hand turns into carpool lane.
·
Pull to the end of the carpool lane to drop off students.
·
Students should remain in the car until either a safety patrol member
or an adult opens the door for them.
·
Cars should remain in line and not go around other cars unless directed
to so by an adult on duty.
·
Please be sure students have book bags, lunch money, teacher notes, and
other needed supplies and are ready to leave the car when the door is opened.
·
Kisses and hugs are very important to us all. Please complete all kisses and hugs before the door
is opened for students to exit the car.
·
When leaving the carpool lane, exit to the right only on Ortega Road.
·
Please park in the parking lots, not in front of the building, to enter
the building.
·
Students should never be dropped off on Ortega to cross the street to
the building.
Douglas
Afternoon Carpool
Safety
Procedures
·
Cars should be parked in the parking lots if parents need to enter the
building, not in front of the school on Ortega Rd.
·
Students should wait in the cafeteria for their carpool numbers to be
called.
·
Cars should clearly display carpool numbers to be seen by staff
members. Mounting them on the right
visor or on the rearview mirror is preferred.
When placed on the dashboard, windshield wipers often obscure the
number.
·
The driveway to the bus parking lot must be kept clear at all times.
·
Cars in line should keep the entrance to Windsor off Ortega clear so
non-carpool traffic and buses can continue to move freely.
·
Cars should always turn right
into the carpool lane – regardless of the time in the afternoons.
·
Cars should always exit right on
to Ortega from the carpool lane.
·
The parking lot on the right
(cafeteria) side of the school is not
for carpool. Parents should use the
established carpool line to
pick up students.
·
Please be mindful of others and do not break in the carpool line.
·
It is recommended cars enter Ortega from Lambeth
to get in the carpool line.
·
When passing the school during carpool, please travel
slowly.
These
rules are for the safety of the children and staff members. With your help, we can ensure carpool will go
smoothly, quickly, and safely each afternoon.
Right is
always the
Right
direction to go in carpool!
