It’s time to
start thinking about using our "Shopping for the Dragons" Fundraiser
to make those gift card purchases for the holidays. If you plan on
purchasing gift cards for a friend or know that you will be shopping at
specific stores for your holiday gifts, please use "Shopping for
the Dragons". These are the same gift cards that you would purchase
at the individual stores. When you buy them through the school, Douglas
Elementary gets a percentage of the total purchase. You will have three
chances to shop before the end of the year. These dates are November 1,
November 14 and November 28. The classroom with the most purchases
through "Shopping for the Dragons" will receive Douglas Dragon water
bottles for each child. Families with multiple children will have their
total purchases divided between their children’s classrooms. Contact
Carla Smith with any questions at 781-7613 or carlasmith@nc.rr.com. Time to get
shopping!
Reflections: "I wonder why. . ."
Have you started your art project
yet? Any Douglas student may participate in the national PTA Reflections
Arts Program. Take a picture, write a story, create a musical piece,
draw, and paint or color.... Make sure your artwork supports the theme:
"I wonder why...” All entry forms and rules for the program are
located in the Media Center. Entries may be turned in at the Media Center
any time and are due by December 2nd. Contact Alice
Spickard (877-0490 or alicespickard@yahoo.com)
if you have any
questions
or need help preparing your work for entry.
A big thanks to all the teachers and
parents for working behind the scenes to make Arts Night a huge success. In addition to Ann Ramsay and her Arts Night
